An all things aviation blog

Delta today announced that on March 20, 2014 they will begin daily 767 service to London’s Heatrow Airport. This adds to the current 10x weekly service operated by British Airways. I guess London is a popular destination for Seattle residents and vice versa as there will now be 17 weekly flights between the two cities.

Delta has really been expanding Seattle since the merger with Northwest. There is now long-haul service to Amsterdam, Beijing,  Tokyo-Narita, Tokyo-Hanada, London, Osaka, Paris and Shanghai. They also operate non-hub service to Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Anchorage, and Honolulu.

It’s really at the point where Delta needs to break down and call Seattle a hub. Granted they don’t have the domestic feeder network but that is what their partnership with Alaska Airlines is for. Alaska gets people to Seattle and Delta gets them across the world.

Good for them.

Happy Flying!
